Life keeps moving and so do I...

Today is a fantastic sunday. I am sitting here in a drug study clinic...YEP Thats right, I am participating in a paid drug study. :) When you are a musician, especially an indie, a lot of what you spend on touring, recording, distribution, etc comes out of your pocket. As you grow your support grows and as your support grows so does the money thats invested in you. Right now, this drug study is a blessing, paying for plenty of things I need to do over the next couple months.

There are several amazing people in here, mostly staff, whom I feel very safe with. Kind, courteous, loving ladies wielding their needles and rubber gloves making merry their work as they kindly herd us from one room to the next. ;) It's not bad, just sitting around watching movies, reading, playing on my computer. Seems almost unfair to be getting paid for this. This whole week will be dedicated to this study and by wednesday of next week I will be 1,200 dollars richer...for 5 days of work. Pretty great, plus I am contributing to modern medicine. Ok Ok...so contributing to modern medicine really doesn't appeal to me all that much, though it's a nice thought, having the money to fly to LA, or tour New York fills me with a little more joy.

So yep...pretty slow day, you would think...but I have been working since 5:30am. When you are still independent in the music business you promote yourself, and promotion work is hard work; long, tedius, and stressful at times. Thank God I have an outstanding promotions team to help the SHA FAN GIRLS TEAM. They rock, several young girls from mostly Morgantown, wv and a few from other states and countries all over the world. These sweet girls offer their time to post videos, maintain websites, create flyers, and more. So work work work while I am in here. I don't mind though. I like promoting my music. I want it to be heard.

I also need to start planning for, mapping out, and getting organized next weekend's small mini OPEN MIC TOUR. From Dec 10th to the 13TH I will be traveling up through Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New York. Visiting friends, family, and hitting a few cafes and clubs to drop in at their open mics, hand out some CDs, and make a few dents in the music world. :) I am very excited about that! You all will be pleased to know that pictures, videos, and stories from that small tour will be posted on here as soon as I can get em up. Right now...I need to get goin, but everyone have a blessed day and think hard on how your life is moving forward...what do you wanna see in your life over the next few years? Comment it.

Jam sessions with the giants...

So today has been such an awesome day. I am super "hung over like" tired from being out durring black friday shopping...btw NEVER AGAIN. lol Black friday is...a very BLACK friday. People shoving one another trying to get deals that in my opinion aren't real deals anyways. lol But moving on...I was out from midnight till 6am, slept till 1pm and had to force myself awake...why?...Because the most amazing artist came to MY home today and played MY music with me...Jenelle Wohltmann, other wise known as NEL...Came over, she is visiting mutual friends and family for Thanksgiving and we have been building an amazing friendship for years now, and today I got the honor of jamming with her and discussing projects we wanna work on together this coming year, let me tell you...excited is not good enough to describe the sensations coursing through my veins thinking about singing, writing, touring, and recording with this musical giant. :)

Nel has always been someone I admired for her convictions and deep love for people, I have always admired her and her brother's band THE BLESSED ANOMALY (http://www.myspace.com/theblessedanomaly) Check them out as soon as possible! I have always wanted to work with them and now it looks like Nel and I are gunna be working so close together that doors are opening for me to be able to work with the whole BLESSED crew!!! Thank God for all his divine intervention ;)Nel plays bass for them along side her 2 brothers Josh who plays drums, and Jeremy on lead guitar and vocals. Fantastic band, look for them to start breaking out on the music scene more this summer 2010. I will update ya as things happen. Sooo yeah...

Wow good day. I hope all of you are experiencing blessed days as well. Now I am in need of some well deserved nap time. Thanksgiving, black friday, and dreams coming true can be a lot for one week :) peace

El Neenyo ( a song I wrote for the head of my FAN GIRL'S PROMOTION TEAM, who also is now one of my deepest and most loved friends. My kid.)

Never Stop Growing, We Gotta Keep Moving, Only To Prove Life's Worth The Losing...

Hello. :) If you are reading this blog it's probably because you already know who I am and decided to give a hoot about my documented adventures. For those of you who are like "WTF? Who is this girl and why am I reading this crap?" (Maybe too harsh, sorry I get carried away) My name is SHA. I am a singer/song writer and this is the acrhival oasis of my life as a singer.

The rush of the stage, the uncertainty of the road, flying or driving to God knows where, the people I meet, the songs they inspire, the faith I hold onto, my successes, my failures (which are merely new ways to grow into the next success mind you), and more. I will bare it all for you. Well not really. I mean getting naked, now that we have JUST met might be inappropriate. So let's just get "semi" wild in here. ;) I will post pictures of every where I go, things I see along the way that inspire, delight, or simply confound me. I will link you to other great bands and musicians that I am privaleged to work with, share stories about the stage, and try and give ya a look into what my life as an artist. I have been called "small time". I have been dubbed "very successful". Either way you look at me, this is my life and it never stops Moving Forward.

"Failing isn't failure, it's just growth." So with every new step, new journey, new inspiration, I am becoming more and more the spitting image of who I am and what I am capable of, which seems to be getting larger by the second. Come with me...Let's adventure together for a while. I saved a seat for you. ;)
Be Still And Know...WHO YOU ARE
SHA xoxo
